Shivaji Bhosale, who is known as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. An Indian Warrior and a member of the Maratha dynasty. Shivaji did not accept the supremacy of the Adil shahi Sultanate and fought many of them. Shivaji won many battles with Guerrilla system. They are also seen as Proto-Revolutionaries and legends of the Hindus. In 1674, the coronation of Shivaji Maharaj became and he got the title of Chhatrapati.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Story. Shivaji Maharaj was born in 1627 in the fort of Shivneri in the town of Junar in the district of Pune. His mother named him Shivaji on the name of Lord Shivay who kept praying for a healthy family. Shahaji Bhosle, father of Shivaji Maharaj was a Maratha general who used to work for the Deccan Sultanate. Shivaji Maharaj’s mother, Jijabai, was the daughter of Lakhooji Rao Jadhav of Sindhkhed. At the time of Shivaji’s birth, Deccan’s power was in three Islamic Sultanate Bijapur, Ahmednagar and Golconda. Shahaji often used to change his loyalty between the Nizamshahi, Adilshah and the Mughals. But he always kept his manor in Pune and he had a small army with him. 

Shivaji Maharaj was very devoted to his mother Jijabai who was very religious. The religious atmosphere had a profound influence on Shivaji,  the Great Hindu texts like Ramayana And Mahabharat stories told by Shivaji’s Mother Influence and Inspired him a lot. Because of these two texts he continued to defend Hindu values for life. During this time Shahaji married another And with his second wife Tukabai, Shahaji went to Adil shah for military campaigns in Karnataka. He left Shivaji and Jijabai and made his protector Dadoji Konande to protect shivaji and Jijabai. Dadoji trained Shivaji basic military tactics, such as horse riding, fencing and shooting. 

Shivaji has been an avid fighter since childhood. However, because of this, he was given only a formal education wherein he could not read the text. Shivaji united his trusted friends and army from the Maval region. Shivaji began strengthening himself And with the knowledge of their motherland, they used to roam hills and forests of Sahyadri Range So that he can be prepared for military efforts. Shivaji was also taken to Bangalore at the age of 12, Where his senior brother Sambhaji and his step brother were already formally trained. Shivaji Maharaj was married to Sibai of Nimbalkar family in 1640. In 1645, Kishore Shivaji first manifested the concept of Hindavi Swarajya.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Story. In 1645, at the age of 15, Shivaji Maharaj Attacked Adilshah Torna Fort without Notifying him of war and won the Fort. Firangoji Narsaa accepted Shivaji’s allegiance And Shivaji also captured the fort of Kondhana. In 1656, the Jawali Kingdom was conquered by the local Maratha chief. In 1659, Adilshah sent an accomplished and legendary general, Afzal Khan, to defeat Shivaji Maharaj in order to reduce the provincial uprising. 

On November 10, 1659, they met in a cottage on the foothills of Pratapgadh Fort. Such an agreement was made that each of them must come with only one sword. Shivaji doubted that Afzal Khan would come up with a strategy to attack him. Therefore, Shivaji hides his armor under his clothes, a hidden weapon named as ‘tiger’ on the right arm and a Skewer in the left hand. In this combat, Afzal Khan’s dash was stopped in Shivaji’s armour, and Shivaji’s dagger, Tiger Nakail, inflicted many deadly wounds on Afzal Khan that he died. After this Shivaji ordered his hideout to attack Bijapur. 

In 10 November 1659, Battle of Pratapgarh In which Shivaji army defeated the army of the Sultanate of Bijapur. The aggressive Maratha, Infantry and horseman started attacking Bijapur. And even before the cavalry army of Bijapur invaded Maratha’s, The Maratha army pushed back the 3000 soldiers of Bijapur army. Afzal Khan’s two sons were being captured. With this bravery Shivaji Maratha became a hero and great hero. With a large number of seized weapons, horses, And other military equipments The Maratha army became stronger. 

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj – King of Maratha

In 1666 Aurangzeb called Shivaji with his nine year old son, Sambhaji, in Agra. Aurangzeb had intentions to send Shivaji to Kandahar to rebuild the Mughal empire in the Northwest Frontier. On May 12, 1666, Aurangzeb asked Shivaji to stand in court behind his etiquette. Shivaji saw it as his offense and rage at the court in indignation. Shivaji was promptly arrested by Agra’s Kotwal. Shivaji now has enough land and wealth from his military operations. But they have not yet earned any official title. The title of the King may have stopped them from taking part in these tests. Shivaji was given the title of Raja of Maratha in Raigad Panditas coronated with the holy water of seven rivers. 

After consecration, Shivaji took blessings from Jijabai. Approximately 5,000 people from Raigad had assembled at the ceremony. Shivaji was also given the title of Chhatrapati. Jijabai died after some days of coronation. The coronation was done for the second time, considering it as an ominous Victory in Southern India and the last days of Shivaji. In the beginning of 1674, Marathas launched an aggressive campaign and attacked Khandesh Bijapuri Ponda, Karwar and Kolhapur were captured After this, Shivaji sent a large army to South India and won the Adilshahi fort Shivaji Reconciliation to deal with his Stepbrother Venkoji But he failed, therefore defeated him while returning from Raigad and captured most of Mysore’s parts. 

The Demise of Shivaji Maharaj

In 1680, Shivaji fell sick and left the world at the age of 52. After Shivaji’s death, His wife Soyarabai planned to put his son Rajaram on the throne Instead of Sambhaji Maharaj, Ten years old Rajaram was placed on the throne. However, Sambhaji, after killing the commander, took possession of Raigad Fort and sat on the throne himself. Sambhaji Maharaj sent Rajaram, his wife Janaki Bai to jail, And mother Soyarabai hanged on conspiracy charges. Sambhaji Maharaj then fought for the Marathas for many years as a brave warrior. Marathas fought a war against Mughals for 27 years after Shivaji’s death And finally defeated the Mughals. After this the British had ended the Maratha empire.
