Shoojit Sirkar, the man behind some amazing filmography with the most unique concepts in every of his new movie; has now arrived with his latest flick ‘Gulabo Sitabo’. Starring Veteran ‘Amitabh Bachchan’ and most talented yet respected youngster in Industry ‘Ayushmann Khurrana’ in lead roles. It is surely a treat for every moviegoers to watch these two amazing performers onscreen; Amitabh Bachchan & Ayushmann Khurrana.
This is even more exciting that both the Actors; ‘Amitabh Bachchan’ and ‘Ayushmann Khurrana’ who have worked with the Shoojit Sircar before in different Movies. Both the movies were well appreciated and big hits of that time. With unique concepts that was portrayed promisingly by ‘Shoojit Sircar’ with his memorable Storytelling.
‘Piku’ with ‘Amitabh Bachchan’, is the father-daughter story, where father has the constipation problem in his old age. ‘Vicky Donor’ with Ayushmann Kharrana; Story of a young man who became a Sperm-donor for earning and how this have impacted his life.
This time, Shoojit have come up with ‘Piku’ and ‘Vicky Donor’ stars together with this witty comedy ‘Gulabo Sitabo’. The Movie showcases the the relationship between the landlord and the tenant.
To Passing out the Gulabo Sitabo Review will be the difficult task, as it will reviewing the Great Performer and the Veteran at same time. The Movie has the story inside the ramshackle Haveli – Fatima Mahal. ‘Fatima Mahal’ is not just a Haveli but the part of life for many, and love for Mirza (Amitabh Bachchan). Mirza, also the landlord of the family living in the Haveli since decades without paying rents for long time. The hatred bickering between the landlord and tenants, Mirza is actually looking for some plan for Haveli.
Baankey (Ayushmann Khurrana), the tenant of Mirza is one hell of the overbearing man who always has the cuss-fight with his landlord Mirza. The story focuses on the Landlord and tenant; as both of them are hot-headed, funny, and irritable they never had a normal conversation ever. The Movie follows some Spoilers, which I don’t want to share here with you; because I recommend you to watch this Movie for Sure. And Experience the Amazing Work of Cinema; watching one of the best Performers ‘Amitabh Bachchan’ & ‘Ayushmann Khurrana’ making you smile in this Amazing Art.
Shoojit Sircar, The Director of Gulabo Sitabo spells the heart and brain within the Movie. This time he came out of his comfort zone; from showcasing the old lucknow, the haveli, the people’s life on a wide lens. His direction is sharp illustration the words without uttering. He did everything to create the audience to experience more laugh and joy in this Pandemic situation. It is actually an imperfect life of peoples that looks for relief even for a time.
The Cinematography of Avik Mukhopadhyay, is exceptionally wonderful. He captures the world, the peoples, the lucknow, the haveli, the director’s vision perfectly. Music of the Movie is Okay, few songs are good with theme of the Movie. But it’s the background Music that deserves special recognition for adding the texture to every sequence.
No one, I repeat No one can and could’ve played the role of ‘Mirza’ better than ‘Sir Amitabh bachchan’. Apart from his beard, his looks and his body language; we can feel his eyes quirky and mindful eyes that keeps on thinking, how to uproar his tenants. Other side, Ayushmann Khurrana too have done fantastic job as a rude young man and tenant of Haveli ‘Baankey’. ‘Ayushmann Khurrana’ has performed with absolute respect to the character of Baankey. Ayushmann Khurrana has matched the degree of confidence in his Performance standing equal to ‘Amitabh Bachchan’. Exaclty, We’ve experienced earlier in the duo of ‘SRK-Amitabh’.
Experiencing similar great performers together, performing and offering an outstanding art of acting. And being the reason for smiling and laughing in this unfortunate situation; the world is suffering, was really a wonderful experience.
